Fun in the Ledro Valley
Explore the surroundings with an active vacation full of adventures
The Ledro Valley, located at an altitude of 650 meters between Lake Garda and Lake Idro, is the ideal place for a rejuvenating vacation thanks to its serene and relaxing atmosphere. Here you can find tranquility walking among the enchanting forests of firs, beeches, and larches, or refresh yourself in the clear crystal waters of Lake Ledro which, surrounded by the greenery of meadows and mountains, creates a perfect oasis for those seeking to escape daily stress. There is no shortage of opportunities for sports: canyoning, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, surfing, and sailing are just some examples of what awaits you. Furthermore, in the local establishments, you can delight your palate with exquisite typical Trentino cuisine.

Lake Ledro is located at an altitude of 650 meters and is considered one of the most beautiful and cleanest freshwater basins in Trentino. With its suggestive turquoise waters, it contributes to creating a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere that is ideal for a rejuvenating vacation. Did you know that Lake Ledro has a fascinating history dating back to the Bronze Age?

The green Ledro mountains await you with over 200 km of routes of various lengths and difficulties to make you experience a vacation full of sport and well-being. Here you will find exciting paths that partially follow the military roads that marked the border during the First World War and breathtaking views of Lake Ledro, Lake Garda, and the Adamello Group.

In the surroundings of the Ledro Valley, you can find trekking and excursions ranging from 65 meters above sea level of Lake Garda to 2254 meters of Monte Cadria. Thus, you have at your disposal an elevation gain of 2000 meters that offers a wide range of landscapes, panoramas, and vegetation and makes exploration possible throughout the year. The environmental diversity is one of the main reasons that led the Ledro Valley to be recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.

The ruins of the pile-dwelling village of Ledro emerged after thousands of years in the autumn of 1929, when the lake level was lowered due to work on the hydroelectric plant in Riva del Garda. Along the southern shore, thousands of stakes emerged, over 10,000 in total, and what was initially believed to be the remains of an ancient dam for water level control turned out to be one of the largest prehistoric sites ever discovered in Italy and one of the most significant in Europe. You can discover all this and much more at the Lake Ledro Pile-Dwelling Museum.
